Our fully qualified electricians carry out every kind of residential electrical work, from replacing a single socket to rewiring an entire house. We work for homeowners, landlords and letting agents across the North East, and bring the same care to a half-hour repair as to a three-week project.
As NICEIC Approved Contractors and NICEIC Domestic Installers we self-certify our own work under Part P of the Building Regulations. You get the certificate you need for your records, your insurer or your solicitor, without waiting on a separate building control inspection.

Rewires and consumer unit upgrades
Most homes need rewiring roughly every 25 to 30 years. The signs are usually clear: rubber or fabric-insulated cabling, a fuse board with rewireable fuses, round-pin sockets, no earth to the lighting circuits, or persistent tripping and scorch marks around accessories.
A partial rewire is often the right answer where earlier work has already brought part of the installation up to standard. We will tell you honestly which you need after inspecting the property — there is nothing in it for us in replacing cable that is doing its job.
Consumer units are a job in their own right. Since January 2016 domestic boards have had to be housed in a non-combustible enclosure, which is why modern ones are steel. A new board also brings RCD protection, disconnecting the supply in milliseconds if current starts flowing to earth. We test the existing installation before quoting, because a new RCD will immediately reveal faults an old fuse board tolerated for years.
Landlords: your legal obligations
If you let property in England, the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 require the fixed installation to be inspected and tested at least every five years by a qualified person, with a copy of the report given to the tenant.
Where the report identifies work as required or potentially dangerous, remedial work must generally be completed within 28 days and confirmed in writing. We carry out the inspection, provide the report and complete any remedial work identified — so you are not chasing two trades.
